Recognised worldwide for their quality, the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Graded and Vocational exams designed to develop fitness, musicality, and performance skills at every stage of life. They set the benchmark of excellence and are accredited qualifications. With over 100 years of expertise, RAD exams can be taken in-person or online and are trusted across the globe.

    The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Discovering Repertoire syllabus is a programme that blends classical ballet technique with the joy of performing famous repertoire. Designed for adult learners, this syllabus provides an engaging way to develop technique, musicality, and artistry while exploring well-known extracts from classical ballets such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Coppélia.

    Unlike traditional graded exams, Discovering Repertoire allows dancers to progress at their own pace, focusing on performance as much as technical development. The programme includes units on barre, centre work, and variation study, giving students the chance to experience the artistry of ballet in a meaningful and fulfilling way.

    This programme is ideal for adults who wish to enrich their ballet journey with both syllabus training and performance preparation. You will be the opportunity to take RAD examinations or assessments, recognised worldwide for their quality and standard.

    Dancers should hold a minimum of an RAD Grade 5 - 8 or Intermediate Foundation certificate (or equivalent) and will need to undergo an assessment before enrolment. If you do not hold this qualification, please speak with our concierge for guidance on whether this programme is suitable for you.

    The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Intermediate Foundation syllabus marks the first level of the Vocational Graded Examinations and is designed for dancers with a secure foundation in classical ballet. This programme develops strength, control, musicality, and performance quality while laying the groundwork for more advanced vocational levels.

    Through structured syllabus training, dancers refine core techniques such as adage, allegro, and pirouettes, alongside artistry and expressive performance. The programme challenges dancers to progress beyond graded work and prepares them for the technical demands of the Intermediate level.

    This programme is ideal for adults ready to pursue higher-level study of classical ballet technique. It provides a strong technical foundation as well as opportunities for personal growth in artistry and confidence.
